Holi aka Phagwah in Suriname + A LOVE Challenge ~ #3CupsOfJoe Show: Episode 5

According to Wikipedia: “Holi [or Phagwah] is a Hindu spring festival celebrated in India and Nepal, also known as the ‘festival of colours’ or the ‘festival of love.’ The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.”

Without even knowing that meaning prior to my experience, I embraced this loving culture and was embraced by it. Good food, great fun, and a giving family are all phenomenal qualities of life to celebrate!

My LOVE Challenge to You:
* Take a day away from the world, with your life partner … no work, no phones, no computers, no tv (except movies), no kids, no distractions.
* Do not verbally (nor texting/messaging) communicate with each other the entire day together. Instead, speak to each other only through touch, body language, hand written notes/letters, and music.
* Enjoy the feel and presence of one another in absolute peace, passion, and serenity.
* Write a letter to yourself about the day you’ve experienced before you sleep. This will be your reminder to your future self of how cleansing your spirit of LOVE can positively impact your entire life.

I will see you all in 2 weeks! I’ll be enjoying my life with my wife within the rainforest of Suriname; and hope you find it in yourself to celebrate your lives too!
