ill-fated ~ Poem

ill-fated by Joe Reid Kirby III

Once you write it down,

It makes it real …

Intentions bled into the paper …

Through your bleeding hands,

As the pen …

The images in your mind,

Drawn into a worded map,

Only to be re-summoned as the image in another’s mind once again …

Accident prone,

Are those intentionally driving blind …

You hoped & you cried …

You stood there & waited …

It was never really them,

But honestly you …

Who you really hated …

Ill-fated …

Living the worst dreams an unforgiving kid could ever dream up to live …

Even though you still have somebody …

Even if that somebody doesn’t actually live in a human body …

It’s still Soul …

Feel the goodness in truth when it’s told …

Be aware of those pushing,

Or pulling you,

Down the wrong road …

Make your direction clear …

Fear not the embarrassment of sadly dropping a tear …

You’ll get there …

But for now …

You’re right here.
